The WB+UPN= The CW!

Well, due to each having, according to them, low ratings, The Wb and UPN have merged together to form one new network. That network being The CW. The decision was made back on January 25, 2006. After the official announcement of the merge many fans of shows from each network were left wondering, what's going to happen to our favorite shows? Well, the new heads of the new network had the fun job of choosing only some shows from each network to make it on their fall schedule. For months we didn't know which of our favorite shows were going to get the axe.The official announcement of the selected shows for the new network were not going to be announced until May 18, 2006.

So as we watched our shows end their seasons, we didn't know whether it was a season finale or series finale. For some shows we already knew it was the end such as Related, Twins, Modern Men, Cuts, Half & Half, and the already planned series finales Charmed and 7th Heaven. All the other shows were up in the air. Fans started petitions, conducted polls, and even protested in behalf of their fave shows. But no group did as much as the fans for my beloved show One Tree Hill, which was in real danger of being canceled. Fans of the show really wanted it to come back for a fourth season since we were left with such a dramatic cliffhanger and we'd be damned if that's how the show would end.

Then finally May 18 came around and the fall lineup was announced. Making the move from Upn to The CW was Everbody Hates Chris, All Of Us, Girlfriends, America's Next Top Model, Veronica Mars, and Friday Night Smackdown. Making the move from The WB to The CW was One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, Smallville, and in an amazing shock they decided to bring back 7th Heaven. Two new fresh shows that would be added to the network are Runaway and The Game. I was majorly happy because my show OTH would be back but I was disappointed that they chose to bring back 7th Heaven for an 11th season instead of Everwood, which was an awesome show. Personally I think 7th Heaven has run it's course. They keep repeating the same storylines and I don't see them doing much else. I was also disappointed to see that they didn't bring back Reba. And I'm not going to even get started on the fact that they got rid of Related. I'm really unhappy with that. Anyway those are the shows that was chosen. Below is the fall schedule listing the days and times.
The CW Fall Schedule:

I at first dreaded the merger, but now that I know that my favorite show will be coming back for another season I'm acyually excited about it. And I can only hope that this network will have much better luck. Although I still think that The Wb wasn't doing so bad since they had some of the highest rated shows. UPN being in the slump I did believe though.

The Veronicas Are Rockin'!!

Well, I wanna talk about one of my favorite albums this year. The Secret Life Of... was released by The Veronicas on February 14, 2006. The Veronicas is made up of twin sisters Jess and Lisa. They are from Australia. They made their mark on the charts with their first single "4ever". The album has a great collection of songs that you could really get into. These girls are definitely talented and provide songs you can really relate to.

My #1 favorite song on the album is "Heavily Broken". It's a heart wrenching song about of being lost in despair and no one helping you. I can say that I feel that way a lot of the time. The second fave is "Everything I'm Not". It's mostly about a guy expecting something more than you are. It's about finally telling that person that you're tired of pretending to be something you're not and that you're done. Another fave is "Leave Me Alone". The title pretty much says it all. And it's sung with attitude which I really like.

They are plenty of other good songs like: "Mouth Shut", "Nobody Wins", "Speechless", and "When It All Falls Apart", which is currently their new single. In my opinion the girls put together a really good album. And the girls are having a great year. They have toured with Ryan Cabrera, who Lisa is now dating, and they are joining Ashlee Simpson for a summer tour. They won two awards at the Australian Video Music Awards. They were also the ones who sang the theme song for the short-lived WB show Related. They are also the new faces for Keds fall campaign. I can see that they will continue to have a very successful year.

Happy Belated Birthday To Sophia Bush & Hilarie Burton!

Okay, I know it's been a long time since I updated this journal. I've just been too preoccupied with other things. I still have a lot of episodes from the rest of One Tree Hill's season. So I have to get on that. Anyway, until then I would like to say Happy birthday to Sophia Bush who turned 24 on July 8th and Hilarie Burton who turned 24 on July 1st.

Sophia, who plays Brooke Davis on One Tree Hill, is an exceptional actress. She is recently starting to become a big name in Hollywood, having starred in movies like Supercross, Stay Alive, and most recently John Tucker Must Die. She is currently filming another movie The Hitcher. Sophia is a classy and intelligent woman. She was married to her OTH co-star Chad Micheal Murray, but that marriage ended after 5 months, amid rumors of his infidelities. And even though she had to end a marriage because of horrible reasons she has been able to come out on top and be stronger than ever. She is a beautiful and down-to-earth person, with incredible class. She is definitely a great role model. And I look forward to seeing her gain even more success. Although I can see that she is well on her way.

Hilarie, although had studied acting and was pursuing it, didn't catch a big break until One Tree Hill came along, playing Peyton Sawyer. Before then she was An MTV VJ for TRL. She had a guest starring role as herself on Dawson's Creek with co-star Chad Micheal Murray. She then got her big break with OTH. Since the show she has starred in another movie titled On Our Very Own. She is married to a crew member from OTH and happily lives in her lovely and haunted home in Wilmington. She looks through scripts and other work but until then she is enjoying working on One Tree Hill.

All in all these are to young women who are talented and charasmatic. They appear to be truly genuine and kind women with hearts of gold and entertain us week after week on a great show. So again I would like to wish them a belated Happy Birthday and I wish them much success both personally and professionally.
