Well, due to each having, according to them, low ratings, The Wb and UPN have merged together to form one new network. That network being The CW. The decision was made back on January 25, 2006. After the official announcement of the merge many fans of shows from each network were left wondering, what's going to happen to our favorite shows? Well, the new heads of the new network had the fun job of choosing only some shows from each network to make it on their fall schedule. For months we didn't know which of our favorite shows were going to get the axe.The official announcement of the selected shows for the new network were not going to be announced until May 18, 2006.
So as we watched our shows end their seasons, we didn't know whether it was a season finale or series finale. For some shows we already knew it was the end such as Related, Twins, Modern Men, Cuts, Half & Half, and the already planned series finales Charmed and 7th Heaven. All the other shows were up in the air. Fans started petitions, conducted polls, and even protested in behalf of their fave shows. But no group did as much as the fans for my beloved show One Tree Hill, which was in real danger of being canceled. Fans of the show really wanted it to come back for a fourth season since we were left with such a dramatic cliffhanger and we'd be damned if that's how the show would end.
Then finally May 18 came around and the fall lineup was announced. Making the move from Upn to The CW was Everbody Hates Chris, All Of Us, Girlfriends, America's Next Top Model, Veronica Mars, and Friday Night Smackdown. Making the move from The WB to The CW was One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, Smallville, and in an amazing shock they decided to bring back 7th Heaven. Two new fresh shows that would be added to the network are Runaway and The Game. I was majorly happy because my show OTH would be back but I was disappointed that they chose to bring back 7th Heaven for an 11th season instead of Everwood, which was an awesome show. Personally I think 7th Heaven has run it's course. They keep repeating the same storylines and I don't see them doing much else. I was also disappointed to see that they didn't bring back Reba. And I'm not going to even get started on the fact that they got rid of Related. I'm really unhappy with that. Anyway those are the shows that was chosen. Below is the fall schedule listing the days and times.
The CW Fall Schedule:

I at first dreaded the merger, but now that I know that my favorite show will be coming back for another season I'm acyually excited about it. And I can only hope that this network will have much better luck. Although I still think that The Wb wasn't doing so bad since they had some of the highest rated shows. UPN being in the slump I did believe though.
