3.08 The Worst Day Since Yesterday
Whoo hoo! The first basketball game of the season is here and the town of Tree Hill is excited. But not everything turns out the way you want it to be. So far this is one of my fave episodes this season. Now let me say why.
Nathan/Haley: Every episode I see this season honestly gives me more hope that good things are to come for Naley. These are actually acting friendly and flirty like the beginning of their relationship. Kinda makes us forget all the drama that occurred between them. Totally loved the decorated locker that Haley prepared for Nathan. Definitely a nice touch with adding the purple flowers. And can I just say that these are doing an awful lot of flirting. It's really cute actually. It's like they are starting fresh. My favorite definitely has to be after the game when Haley waited for Nathan. It was really sweet. She actually seemed kind of nervous about it. But the best part was after she walked away telling him to call her later if he wanted to talk and he called like 5 seconds after she left and gestured for her to come with him. It was great to see how much they have progressed in the rebuilding of their relationship. Now I know better than to keep my hopes up because I'm sure the writers are going to add in some some more obstacled that will probably take them a step back, but for now I'm happy with things and can only kinda hope that their reconciliation will come soon.
Brooke/Lucas: Now if Haley and Nathan were the happiest part of this episode then Brooke and Lucas were by far the saddest. Poor Brooke is upset because she knows she made a mistake and totally regrets it and Lucas is hurting because he was so sure that she was the one for him and didn't expect to see what he did. All because of the ASS that is Chris Keller. Through the whole episode you could see how much Brooke regrets her actions. It also made her realize that the whole approach in the non-exclusivr relationship was stupid and that she shouldn't have been playing games with him. Lucas on the other hand took it as a sign that maybe they really weren't for each other. It really affected him. All he kept thinking about was Brooke and Chris together. Definitely distarcted him from the game. Even when Brooke tried to talk he didn't even give her a chance and walked out with Rachel intentionally wanting to hurt her. It's a good thing that Rachel set him staright and told him that she wasn't gonna let him use her. Another reason why I don't mind her she isn't dumb. I can only hope that things get better for Brooke and Lucas.
Nathan/Lucas: It sure doesn't seem these two will be back to being best buddies again soon, but we did get a glimpse of Nathan still kinda caring for his brother, even if it didn't come off that way. I did like how Nathan the confrontation with Chris did kinda seem like he was coming to the defense of his big brother but it did still the underlying issue about him and Haley too. And the scene in the locker room. it did seem like Nathan wanted to comfort his brother and at first I did think that was what he was going to do but it didn't go that way. Interesting how Nathan used the same advice that Luke gave him concerning Haley and her kiss with Chris. It let Lucas know that no matter how much you love the person and how much they love you back it's not always easy to forgive. I really did enjoy their one bonding moment when they threw the basketball at Chris' head. Definitely one of my favorite scenes. Hope to see these two bond and become brothers again in the future. Although they do look extra hot being all angry at eachother.
Haley/ Peyton: Well, Haley and Peyton finally make amends. Not without Peyton taking some shots at Haley before they actually do. It was good to see that their caring for their friend Brooke was what was able to bring them together and unite in helping her with her predicament. I really did enjoy the scene in the studio with Chris. As they left they totally looked like twins. And the fact that they were wearing their cheer uniforms really reinforced that. Although I did think that Peyton should have made a better apology because she didn't really come out and say I'm sorry. Haley also should of kinda told Peyton off first and then accepted it. but despite the fact that I think it could have been handled better I'm glad that these two are becoming friends again because bitchy Peyton was really getting on my last nerve.
Brooke/Suburban Filth: This store really has some nerve. How are you going to take designs from someone and not reimburse someone for helping you make more of a profit for you? Brooke should get something out of the deal. It was just so wrong how they totally screwed her over. It totally sucked that they did that to her. She was so excited about it and then they go and tell her that she doesn't really get anything for it. They deserved what she and Peyton did in the end when they stole back her designs.Too bad it's illegal and will inevitably bite them in the ass.
Chris/Everyone: Ah, Chris Keller, the pain in everyone's ass. It's amazing how this one person, who doesn't have any relation to anyone here, can affect everyone in such a negative way. I mean first he's a pain in Peyton's ass, then he comes between Nathan and Haley by kissing her then having her leave on tour with him, then he comes between Lucas and Brooke by sleeping with Brooke. The man is a plague. He definitely got what he deserved not only by Peyton slapping him, but also the basketball hitting him in the face. It was definitely a highlight.
Special Mentions: I can't go without mentioning how adorable and hilarious Tim was in this episode. He was definitely even funnier when he brought the idea about the tattoos to Nate. Then later when he showed Nathan his tattoo of a cherub with his jersey number '55'. Too bad Whitey then chose to change it to '0' right then and there to his embarrassment. I love Tim. Hope to see more of him soon. Mouth was also good in this episode when he presented something to Karen that she definitely needed. He was able to capture Dan attacking Nathan in the locker room on his camera phone. Hope to that can help her. But before that drama I have to mention Karen's advice to Lucas about Brooke, " The best way to get over someone is to get under someone else." I was shocked when Karen uttered those words to her son. It was just so hilarious when she finally realized what that meant. It is officially my fave One Tree Hill quote.
Peace, Love, and Hugs.
